The Zynga's Chief Creative Officer feels there is plenty ahead for Zynga to tackle Zynga
Social game apps have taken the market place like a storm in the previous several yrs, and also Zynga has been leading this ride. Apparently, the term "social game" may well be a misnomer of sorts, as Zynga's chief creative officer of outside studios, Bob Bates, feels that today social titles aren't so social.
In a current interview to GamesIndustry International, the experienced designer stated, "We're still in the infancy of understanding what's possible and what it really means for a game to be social. Right now we're viral, but true social, where you feel like you're actually playing with your friends, not 'I'm playing here, he's playing there' is still ahead."
He sustained, "The sense of actually playing together, that's a real challenge, and I'd like to be in a position where I can attack that challenge. I don't feel like I know enough yet to pull that off; I'm still learning the space. Finding ways to do those kinds of things would be very, very cool."
It s correct that a growing number of social game brands are mainly asynchronous realities, where online gamers do turns making strikes in game apps just as "Words With Friends", "Texas Holdem Poker" or "Draw Something", but synchronous or web-based multi-player gaming obviously doesn't seem to be out of the realm of prospect for the social space. There are actually firms on the web nowadays who are pressing for real-time gaming in the social universe.
Among the list of examples is Idle Games. "Fundamentally I don't believe you can have a social game without at least offering up the ability to play in real-time with others," Jeffrey Hyman, CCO of Idle Games mentioned just recently. Another example is coming with a great new site http://sozzial.com, with a whole new concept of playing online conventional casino games, which specifically they named GAMeBLING. Sozzial.com supposedly is to initiate their gaming system at web portal and also as Facebook gaming app where internet players will enter in competition with each other in real time conduct. Interesting is, that gamers can potentially play different varieties of black jack or slots in the same event. It will be interesting to see how it looks like. We were informed that the beta application will be started in several months.
The challenge will be balancing synchronous and asynchronous to make sure a game can still be successful on social networks or mobile phone devices. In many cases, asynchronous just simply works even better for online players, and yet let's look forward to new game apps for concluding judgement.
